The frunk is one of the plus points of every Tesla: additional luggage can now be stowed where the engine used to be. But what if the frunk hood cannot be opened?
Frunk Model Y: Problems when opening
In individual cases, it can happen that clicking on "Open frunk" in the Model Y has no consequences. The hood refuses to work and objects in the frunk are locked up for the time being.
This may be due to a faulty or interrupted activation of the locking mechanism, but it is also possible that something has just got stuck. The approach to the problem differs depending on the cause.

To find out what the cause is in a specific case, you need to listen carefully. Does the locking mechanism buzz or click when you try to open the frunk? This would indicate that the frunk control is still working.
In this case, you can try to loosen any jamming by applying light pressure to the cover or pry it open with a suitable plastic wedge - ideally, of course, at the same time as a second person operates the lock.
But be careful: only use a little force with this method and proceed with caution. If the frunk does not open like this, you will only cause more damage with more force.
