Inductive charging in the Tesla is practical. Find out here what to do if smartphone charging does not work in the Tesla.

Inductive charging in the Tesla can be very helpful: simply get in, place your cell phone in the charging station and have a full battery when you get out - that's the theory. But what to do if this doesn't work in practice?

Das Problem

Whether Model 3, Model S or others: Tesla drivers repeatedly report problems where charging in the inductive charging station does not work at all or only works for a short time.

Lösungsvorschläge

First of all, a fault with the smartphone should be ruled out. This means: Remove any existing case or deactivate fast charging in the settings. With some smaller phones, it can help to place a block or similar underneath the phone so that the device is higher up in the charging station.

On some older Tesla models, it is possible to check the cable that leads from the charging station to the USB socket in the center console and possibly unplug it once and plug it back in again. In newer models, the station is unfortunately hard-wired.

Finally, the only thing left to do is try, try, try. Maybe the charging station will get back on track at some point. If necessary, the classic charging cable will have to be used or Tesla Service will have to be contacted.

da kauft Du ein iPhone für fast €1.500,- dazu noch einen Tesla Y für gut €60.000,- dann geht das lumpige induktive Laden nicht. Ganz schön krass.
