The Tesla cell phone key is like many other features and gadgets: Basically, they make life more convenient, but they also create completely new problems that you didn't have to worry about before.
The problem: Unauthorized access
After all, what happens if you forget your cell phone in the Tesla? Then strangers could simply get in and drive off, as the car assumes the rightful owner is behind the wheel.
Lösungsansätze
What can you do in such a case? First of all, don't panic! The likelihood of someone arbitrarily trying to open someone else's car doors is quite low. Nevertheless, it does not hurt to activate Valet mode and Sentry mode as a precaution if you still have access via another cell phone.
In addition, you can remove your cell phone as an authorized key via the online log-in at Tesla - then you will need a replacement key as soon as you are back at the car yourself.
Of course, prevention also helps in advance: setting up the Pin-to-drive function increases security enormously, not only in such cases, but also against hacker attacks, for example.
