Finding your way to the nearest Supercharger is a breeze thanks to Tesla's navigation system – but actually charging can be a little tricky at first. We'll explain the basics you need to know.
Tesla Supercharger: Which plug?
Most Supercharger stations have two connector types: Type 2 and CCS. The latter is the more modern system and should be used whenever possible. You can distinguish the CCS connector from Type 2 by its two large, additional prongs.

Tesla Model 3: Opening the charging port
Once you've found the correct connector, take it to the vehicle and press the button on the connector head to open the Tesla charging port. Remove any protective film or other covering. cover and plug in the connector. A green LED light indicates success. At the end of the process (LED glows white), press the button again and unplug the connector.
Are Superchargers sustainable?
According to its own statements, Tesla buys the necessary electricity from environmentally friendly sources, but this has not yet been definitively and independently verified.
