Have you ever wondered what happens if you stop at a Supercharger even though your battery is already fully charged? Other arriving Tesla drivers will probably be quite annoyed, but is there a reaction from Tesla as the operator? Yes, there is.
Tesla charges so-called blocking fees for vehicles that are not charging, but only if a Supercharger station is at least 50 % full. The decisive factor for the calculation is the message in the Tesla app, which indicates that the charging process is complete.
Tesla will charge 50 cents per minute to anyone who does not immediately remove their vehicle from the charging station after receiving this notification. If the station is currently at 100% capacity, you even pay one euro per minute.
Tesla is accommodating to customers who release the space within 5 minutes of the end of charging - in this case, the charge is waived. If blocking fees are incurred, they will be debited via the payment method specified in the Tesla app.
If no method is stored, the amount is due on the next visit to a service center. You can find out whether you have incurred charges in the charging details in your Tesla account.
