When you're driving a Tesla, you're surrounded by software and hardware that is so advanced that you often simply ignore the simple and banal aspects of driving because you trust that the technology will take care of it.
However, unfortunately "the technology" is sometimes not yet as advanced as you would expect, which is why there are still a few tips and tricks to consider, even with Tesla. One example of this is the daytime running lights.
Tesla automatic light control is not perfect - penalty threatens
Almost every Tesla driver has the light setting set to "Automatic". Why should you do anything else? After all, the automatic system now switches between daytime running lights, low beam and high beam all by itself - the days when you had to remember to switch a light on before driving and off again after driving are thankfully over.
But beware: even this assistant is not perfect. Especially when it is not necessarily dark, but bad weather nevertheless restricts visibility, the Tesla automatic headlights often do not switch from daytime running lights to low beam. This is not only dangerous - because the tail lights remain off - but above all it is also an offense and therefore subject to fines.
Unfortunately, this problem cannot be solved by accessories or by the (non-adjustable) sensitivity of the automatic light control. In bad weather, the low beam must therefore be switched on manually, just like before.
