When you drive a Tesla, you are surrounded by software and hardware that is so advanced that you often simply ignore the simple and banal aspects of driving because you trust that the technology will take care of it.
However, unfortunately "the technology" is sometimes not yet as advanced as one would expect, which is why there are still a few tips and tricks to consider with Tesla. One example of this is the daytime running light.
Tesla automatic light system is not perfect - penalty looms
Almost every Tesla driver has the light setting set to "Automatic". Why should you do anything else? After all, the automatic system now switches between daytime running light, dipped beam and main beam all by itself - the days when you had to remember to switch a light on before driving and then switch it off again after driving are fortunately over.
But beware: this assistant is not perfect either. Especially when it is not necessarily dark, but bad weather nevertheless restricts visibility, the Tesla automatic headlights often do not switch from daytime running lights to low beam. This is not only dangerous - because the rear lights remain off - but above all it is also an offense and therefore subject to fines.
Unfortunately, this problem cannot be solved by accessoriesor by the (non-adjustable) sensitivity of the automatic light control. In bad weather, the dipped beam must therefore be switched on manually, just like before.
