Have you ever wondered what happens if you leave your car at a Supercharger even though your battery is fully charged? Other arriving Tesla drivers will likely be quite annoyed, but is there any reaction from Tesla as the operator? Yes, there is.
Tesla charges so-called blocking fees for vehicles that are not currently charging, but only if a Supercharger station is at least 50% full. % is utilized. The decisive factor for the calculation is the notification in the Tesla app indicating that the charging process has ended.
Anyone who does not immediately remove their vehicle from the charging station after receiving this notification will be charged 50 cents per minute by Tesla. If the station is currently at 100% capacity, the charge is even one euro per minute.
Tesla is lenient with customers who vacate the charging spot within 5 minutes of charging finishing – in these cases, the charge is waived. Should any blocking fees apply, they will be charged to the payment method specified in the Tesla app.
If no payment method is saved, the amount will be due the next time you visit a service center. You can check if you have incurred any charges in the charging details section of your Tesla account.
