Especially with the Tesla Model 3, incidents where the vehicle stops charging are becoming increasingly common. It's hard to imagine anything more inconvenient with an electric car. If you're also affected, this article will tell you exactly what to do.
The problem
The problem often manifests itself in the Tesla stopping charging at a certain battery level, even though it is not yet full, or in the fact that it doesn't start charging at all.
Proposed solutions
The first approach should be to reset the vehicle to ensure that it's not just the charging management system that's frozen. We've explained how to do this. here described. However, it is very likely that this problem is caused by damage to the battery pack.
If the reset doesn't work, you'll need to schedule a service appointment. This means: book an appointment at the service center using the Tesla app and make sure you have enough battery charge to get there.
In case of emergency, a tow hook and warning triangle should be ready, and towing mode should be activated. Since repairs take a relatively long time (often several weeks), Tesla usually provides a rental car during the warranty period.
Once charging is working again, you can at least rule out problems caused by contamination with a Charging port cover prevent.
