1. Low center of gravity

As with all electric cars, the heavy battery in the Tesla is also mounted in the floor. This significantly lowers the vehicle's center of gravity compared to combustion engine vehicles, as a large portion of the vehicle's mass is located close to the road. As a result, the car is not only more agile to drive, but also considerably less prone to tipping over or rolling.

To understand this, imagine a vertical rod with a weight attached to it. If the weight is attached at the top, the rod will easily fall over if touched. However, if the weight is attached at the bottom, the rod will remain upright even under relatively strong pressure.

2. Extra crumple zone

Another advantage of electric cars over combustion engine vehicles lies in the absence of an engine under the hood. Engines are heavy and hardly deformable, so pretty much the opposite of a good crumple zone.

Without an engine, there is therefore more space available for deformable parts and thus as a crumple zone, which absorbs the impact energy in an accident.

For this reason, Teslas offer increased safety and more space in the passenger compartment despite their comparatively short nose.

3. Safety and assistance systems

Tesla's safety and driver assistance systems are another reason for the vehicles' excellent safety ratings. Lane keeping assist, emergency braking support, and much more are standard features at a high level in Teslas, while with some other manufacturers you have to pay extra for them.

Furthermore, these systems are continuously improved and maintained through software updates. Even vehicles that originally had an inferior version of the systems can be retrofitted.
